TSE stands for Test of Spoken English.
In TSE you are given several questions that you need to respond with appropriate answers or discussions. Examples of these speech activity items include narrating, recommending, persuading, and giving and supporting an opinion.

Registering for TSE
There are two ways to register for TSE: online and by mail. Once you are ready to take the TSE test, go to the ets.org website - TSE Registration.

- Test of Spoken English US$125
- Additional Score Report Requests US$17 (per recipient)

TSE test format
The test requires you to:
- Tell a story based on a six-picture sequence and answer a related question
- Describe a graph and answer a related question
- Respond to two questions about ideas
- Respond to three questions in the role of someone in a workplace situation
There are nine questions and the test lasts for approximately 20 minutes.

What is the cut off TSE score of US universities?
Each US university determines its own cut off scores. Moreover, some departments have their own cut off limits. For example, the Computer Science department may have a different cut off score limit than the English department of the same university. You should check the minimum TSE score required with each college / university you are applying to.
